Connecting to the Divine Feminine

A Workshop of Sacred Dance & Mantra

Friday 11 September I 6pm - 7:30pm

Complimentary with weekly unlimited membership and intro passes. All other class passes for weekly schedule can be used to book this event.

Join Laury for an evening of gentle movement, Sacred Dance and mantra, designed to help you connect with the Divine Feminine within and around you.

In the yogic tradition, the Divine Feminine is known as Shakti—the primordial, dynamic energy that creates, animates, and moves through the whole universe. She is the pulse behind every breath and heartbeat, the living force behind all of nature.

This workshop draws on the Sacred Dance tradition of Yasodhara Yoga, founded by Swami Radha, the first Western woman to be initiated as a Sanyasin. Swami Radha learned these devotional dances while studying with her teacher, Swami Sivananda, in Rishikesh in the 1950s, and later brought them to the West as a way of using the body as a tool for spiritual awareness and connection.

No dance experience is necessary; all movements are simple and accessible to everyone.

What to bring: Comfortable clothing for gentle movement a notepad and pen for optional journalling to support reflection.

Meet Laury
Laury is a devoted Yasodhara Yoga teacher, drawn to the heart of yoga as a path of reflection, devotion, and the Divine Feminine.

Her journey began over 20 years ago when she first encountered Yasodhara Yoga, a tradition guided by women and rooted in nurturing spiritual practice.

In 2024 she deepened her connection through eight months living and training at Yasodhara Ashram in British Columbia, immersing herself in its teachings and community life.

Laury now shares these gentle and contemplative practices from her home studio and is grateful to bring them to the Gather community.
